10U Local Rules and Rules to Know

  1. Five (5) run maximum per inning except the 6th inning. (There is no run limit in the 6th inning)

  2. Ten (10) run rule afterfour (4) innings. (3 ½ innings if home team has the lead.)

  3. Time Limit: NO NEW INNING CAN START AFTER ONE HOUR AND FORTY FIVE MINUTES (1:45). You may complete the final inning started at the one hour, forty five (1:45) minute mark. A full game is six (6) innings.
    example: top of the 5th is started at or before the 1:45 minute mark. Visiting team is trailing 3-2, but takes the lead 4-3. The bottom of the inning is played. If home team scores two runs, game is over and home team wins.  If home team scores one run and makes three outs, the game is a tie.
    If the visiting team is trailing in the top half of the inning and does not tie or take the lead, the game is over and the home team does not bat.

  4. THERE IS NO EXTRA INNINGS IN THE REGULAR SEASON. (Game tied after six (6) innings is declared a tie.)

  5. Complete game is Four innings. (3 ½ innings if home team is leading)

  6. NO ON DECK BATTERS ON FIELD OF PLAY. ON DECK BATTERS MUST REMAIN BEHIND FENCE.

  7. HOME TEAM IS THE OFFICIAL SCORE BOOK. HOME TEAM IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE OFFICIAL SCORE AND PITCH COUNT. Both teams coaches are to check pitches at the end of each inning with the official scorer.

  8. Roster Batting.  (Everyone bats. If someone leaves the order due to injury/illness, the batter is skipped. There is no out recorded for a player leaving the original lineup due to injury/illness)

  9. Player must play in the field in minimum of 2 consecutive innings.

  10. Unlimited Field Substitutions except for pitcher and catcher due to throwing regulations and pitch count.

  11. Coaches must have pitch count documentation available for next game to present to the opposing coach if asked.

  12. Maximum number of pitches is 75 per game per pitcher. (If a pitcher has thrown 73 pitches, he may throw to one more batter. His official pitches recorded would revert back to pitch count at start of that batter. See page 42 of 2017 Little League Official Regulations, Playing Rules and Policies, Regulation VI, Pitchers.)

  13. Pitchers who throw more than 41 pitches CAN NOT play catcher following his appearance as a pitcher for the remainder of the day. (See page 42 of 2017 Little League Official Regulations, Playing Rules and Policies, Regulation VI, Pitchers, c, NOTE.)

  14. Bunting is allowed. Once batter commits to bunt, he may pull back, but cannot swing at the pitch.
    NO FAKE BUNTS OR “SWINGING BUNTS”.

  15. No lead-offs

  16. No balks

  17. No head first slides

  18. No dropped third strike, batter is out on strike three.

  19. INFIELD FLY is in affect

  20. Bases – Sixty (60) feet; Pitcher’s mound- Forty Six (46) feet.

  21. Bats must comply with Little League standard

  22. All rules and playing regulations as set forth by the 2017 Little League Baseball Official Regulations, Playing Rules and Policies are to be observed unless superseded by a local rule.
